grommunio announces new CTO Michael Kromer at Grazer Linuxtage

Vienna/Graz, April 8, 2024: grommunio is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Kromer as its new Chief Technical Officer (CTO). Once more, grommunio CEO Norbert Lambing once has managed to to recruit an highly regarded expert: In a career spanning more than 20 professional years, Kromer has combined technical expertise with management positions in well-known companies in the German and European IT landscape, most notably as Managing Director of NETitwork in Augsburg.

Michael Kromer intends to focus on turning grommunio’s ambitious vision and to further align the software with customer requirements. The new Head of Technology will help turn grommunio into a leading global provider of secure and efficient communication solutions and redefine corporate communication in free and open software.

For the first time, the new CTO has represented grommunio last weekend at the Grazer Linuxtage where grommunio had been the main sponsor.

In his presentation at the Graz Linux Days – here a screenshot from the livestream – Michael Kromer (on the left) was able to present the ambitious and comprehensive grommunio strategy with which CEO Norbert Lambing was able to convince him.

Michael Kromer’s presentation “grommunio – The Open Source Revolution in Groupware Solutions” (Original: “Die Open Source Revolution bei Groupware-Lösungen” – it’s in German), which actually grommunio’s CEO Norbert Lambing originally intended to give, but then left to the new CTO, is also available as a Video.

The Grazer Linuxtage have become one of the most important events in the open source scene over the last few decades, which was also reflected this year in the large number of visitors and an extremely successful appearance for grommunio.
