grommunio at the Munich Tech Days

For the tenth time, the Munich Tech Days will take place on July 24 and 25 – and this year, grommunio will also be participating. Markus Feilner, Open Source Ambassador at grommunio, is one of the participants in the Closing Keynote, a discussion panel focused on open source as a driver of innovation.

The Munich Tech Days is an established event in Munich’s tech and political scene: Supported by Bavarian state institutions, prominent guests from IT, politics, and business engage over two days in keynotes and panels on topics such as cybersecurity, e-health, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and innovation management in general, as well as scientific questions in areas like energy and space.

Under the auspices of Bayern Innovativ, founded in 1995 by representatives from Bavarian politics, business, and science, and the Sicherheitsnetzwerk München e.V., representatives from companies such as Google and Fraunhofer, as well as academic institutions like the State Research Institute of Bavaria for Software-Intensive Systems Fortis, gather to listen to lectures from ministers, CEOs, and professors across four stages.

On Wednesday, Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs Tobias Gotthardt will open the event, followed by a keynote from Wieland Holfelder, Google’s Vice President of Engineering and CTO of Google Cloud Security. The Technical University of Munich will also be represented, along with major players from Nokia, Helmholtz, Deloitte, Deutsche Bank, and Fujitsu. Another highlight is the panel discussion with Bavaria’s Digital Minister Fabian Mehring on the evening of the first day.

In parallel to the lectures, numerous workshops and showcases on AI, rapid prototyping, quantum computing, ethical tech, and discussions on fusion energy and fraud scenarios “in the instant digital world” will take place.

grommunio’s Markus Feilner will participate in the Closing Keynote on Thursday evening. As a representative of an innovative open-source company, he will discuss the innovative power of open source with SUSE’s Chief Revenue Officer Werner Knoblich, Oliver Lehmeyer from the Cyberrisk Agency of the Sicherheitsnetzwerk München, and moderator (and Munich open-source veteran) Markus Rothmeyer.
grommunio can be a significant asset as a drop-in replacement for Microsoft Exchange, as reported by the Helmholtz Institute.
